Spend it, save it, give it away; it's up to you if you win!

Bruce Lee Day

November 27 was the birthday of Bruce Lee (and the day of the ASA food sale), and to celebrate this day we showed (for free) two of his movies. Anyone who came by could step in to watch and enjoy a free bag of popcorn. Soda and candy was also sold for a low price of 75cents (candy) and 25cents (soda). A big thank you to everyone who was there and Happy Birthday to Bruce Lee!

Our president martial arts master is the spitting image of the legend!

Wait a minute... where did he come from?

November Food Sale

Images from November's Food. The food sale was extremely successful and this time we managed to give away all the beef and broccoli. Next, maybe we can aim to give away the orange slices in the orange chicken. A job well done everyone!

What are you up to...?

Hey, I'm just taking a picture! Don't eat me, eat the food instead.

Lighting up the burners to keep the food nice and warm

ASA's Trip to Chinatown

We had a very productive Chinatown Trip, as Shelah, Tiffany, and myself were bound and determined to 1) get things done! 2) eat good food! and 3) have fun! We ate dim sum at MountainView Cafe, and we have the pictures and documents to prove it! We ordered just enough...there were beef balls, shu mai, shrimp rolls, sticky rice, and much more! Daaaang, I forgot how much we ate...

Then we planned the rest of the year! No kidding! We worked through December, then the rest of the Spring semester. There's going to be an awesome raffle at the end of the year...your attendance and buying tickets all counts!

Afterwards, we wandered around, visiting Aji Ichiban, a candy store, and a bakery along the way. We took photos with our respective zodiac signs (the Rabbit is obviously the best...not like I'm [Brian] biased or anything...)

Then we piled back into the car and headed home, fighting some terrible traffic, having concluded a great day!

ASA Historian would like to thank Brian for writing up this blog and Tiffany for letting me use her pictures off facebook.

Ultimate Cultural Music Fusion

Ultimate Cultural Music Fusion was an event sponsored by multiple clubs at the College of Lake County that was held on Thursday, November 15th, that consisted of various acts ranging from dancing, singing and cultural diversity.
The event was a blast and had a great turnout on the actual night of the show. People from a variety of background came to show their support for the fellow students at CLC who worked diligently for their performance.
ASA representative Allan Castro provided a hip-hop routine for the crowd. As well as Doug Shimizu who demonstrated his taiko drum skills for the audience. ASA members including Karen and April de la Cruz, and Shelah Sepe were members of the audience and showed their support as well. Both the Latino Alliance and SASA clubs gave an exceptional performance with their dances. Overall the event was a great success and they are planning on doing another event like this next semester.

ASA Historian would like to thank A.C. for writing up this blog.

The Gotcha Game Has Begun!

First off, Happy Halloween to all you ghouls, spooks, and ninjas.

The Gotcha Game (aka Assassin Game) will test participants skills, stealth and sanity...

The basics of the game:

  • Those who've signed up are assigned 'targets'.
  • The object is to survive while'getting' your targets through assigned tools.
  • The tools of the trade are a plastic spoon or a post it saying 'gotcha'.
  • The only safe zones are classrooms, offices and the meeting room.
  • No alliances to capture targets allowed.
  • The winner receives... a jumbo box of 'Hello Panda' snack.

Good luck, watch your back and may the best man (woman) win!

For those of you who didn't sign up, don't mind the paranoid looking people running around.

Oh, and watch out for flying spoons.

*Note: This is a repost of the one published on 10/31, which was accidentaly deleted this morning
